Chunky Weave Copper Bracelet

This bracelet is called Opposites. It’s a chunky pure copper bracelet of two parts.

I actually first made this in gold for myself. It was a result of a lucky mistake. I had originally created the two pieces of the slinky, shiny chain side as a pair of earrings and then I just couldn’t see them working, so I thought okay well I’ve put in all this work to create this weave (which takes quite a long time to to put together), so I didn’t want to throw it away.

And then the rest of the design kind of came to me – it was born out of the mistake.

And the reason why I decided to call it Opposites, is because you get the two elements of the fluid slinky chain that looks thick, but is actually quite malleable and almost fluid to the touch – opposite the rigid sturdy other side.

It’s quite easy to put on and take off. And it’s meant to be worn kind of off-sided. Either with the the chain side on the inside and the tough side on the other side, or the other way around. It depends on what looks better in your eyes and what feels better.

The bracelet is really nice and sturdy. It’s a timeless piece because it is copper and also you can either stack it with other bracelets you already love. Or if you want – wear it by itself as a statement piece. Either way – a great gift to yourself.

I constantly get comments on my one – people ask me where I’ve got it from – the answer to which always makes me simultaneously proud, but also sheepish about ‘tooting my own horn’ as it were.
