Hey – I’m Anita
The heart and hands behind the one-of-a-kind, hand-crafted pieces of the “Anahita” collections.
Here, each piece is a celebration of your individuality, crafted to inspire you to embrace and express your authentic self – to take up your rightful space in the world. Because each day, you have the opportunity to express how you choose to show up for yourself and others. With each action you take – you make an unspoken statement.
Your jewelry too, is an expression of you!
It’s much more than an accessory, a fashion, or a status statement. It’s a declaration of how you do YOU. A subtle yet powerful statement about your inner world.
The beauty of your jewelry is highly subjective, of course. Each is a whisper of creativity, not designed for the masses, but a chance to celebrate, reflect, honour, and reward moments in your life-journey that hold meaning.
In that way – a piece can be about discovery and personal connection. A chapter of a story; an element of a conversation; a companion on your personal path. A reminder that’s with you when you choose to wear it.
This self-expression you do for you. Not for the outside world. Because having the clarity and courage to express yourself, bolsters your resolve to live with less emotional friction, more joy, and love for your life.
In that way – jewelry is beauty gone deep!
Each piece I design is a journey, an adventure.
I start with an idea and let the process guide me, solving problems and embracing the unexpected along the way.
The materials are always unique, irregular, unpredictable. I don’t solder or use chemicals – which challenges my problem-solving prowess. I have to figure out the setting and finishing challenges for each design.
Each piece allows me to practice presence AND letting go, AND thinking unconventionally. Then, when I’m done, I get to lovingly polish and prepare it to meet you. I take pride in that.
And when a client loves what they choose, and post a picture of themselves wearing it – that just puts the cherry on the full experience.
In that way, mine is not a mass-market business.
What it is, though – is an opportunity for me to inspire you to feel how special YOU are, and to vote for yourself.
I chose this name because it’s my name, but also because Anahita is an ancient Persian deity of water. And water is the ultimate embodiment of fluidity.
Fluidity is the ultimate life skill we can learn (and one of my top three core value drivers) that can alleviate life’s friction and allow us to live a more enjoyable, meaningful, and nourishing life.
Similarly, in the context of the jewelry art you’ll find here, Anahita stands for fluidity, strength, creativity, and uniqueness.
In this spirit, each piece is one-of-a-kind, just like the uniqueness of its future wearer. Sure – the concept is a little unconventional – self-expression ‘dressed-up’ as one-of-kind hand-crafted jewelry.
But – go on – find a piece that resonates with you, something that makes you feel seen, understood, or just joyfully excited. Explore the Anahita creations with curiosity.
And here is a little more about who I am and how I got to here.
Jewelry Found Me
… back in mid-2018.
It was an exploration fuelled by my need to make a pair of earrings from a set of loose pearls my mom bought for me some years ago. A set, made even more special because I bought her a similar set at the same time.
My bond with my mom is one-of-a-kind. Not just because she’s my mom (that’s the obvious thread). She’s also my best friend, and a spiritual mirror-buddy. Like any relationship, it’s got ups and downs and twist-arounds. It’s deep, intense, and intentional.
Like the beauty and paradox of the pearls we have from each other (as you’d know, pearls form around imperfections inside mollusks – literally born from a flaw of nature that creates their uniqueness, powerful beauty, and disarming shine).
So I’d wanted these pearls as earrings.
But after establishing that no jeweller would spend their time making what I wanted, I decided to look into what it would take to make them myself (I should mention that the take-things-in-your-own-hands trait is something that is a deep part of my character).
What followed was a fairytale discovery.
I was consumed, inspired and excited, at the time, mostly by the potential of the craft. By what other artists were creating. I’m talking spending hours on Pinterest at night, collecting ideas, and falling deeper into this seemingly bottomless rabbit hole.
I soon got the basic tools. Watched and practiced techniques taught generously by experienced craftspeople on YouTube. Made things. And also secretly wished I could just do that as my business forever. This was a wildfire of physical beauty AND emotions. It felt like LOVE!
And that’s Tigi (bottom right), my first assistant :o)
Life’s Twists & Turns
But the Universe had different plans from the ones I was making.
Just before the pandemic hit, a whole truck-load of life-changing events transpired that were going to run the show of “The life of Anita” for the next few years.
I’ll spare you the actual details of the events, because I don’t want you to contextualise your life experience according to mine.
“Traumatic” or “life-changing” are subjectively defined descriptive terms. They are such only if YOU define them to have that gravity according to how you experienced them to feel to you.
What is traumatic to me, may be a tickle to another. And what I take in my stride, perhaps daily, may be an inconceivable compromise to you.
And that’s actually how I can sum-up my journey of the last 3 and a bit years. I’ve learned that in order to have a fluid, fulfilling, and intermittently joyful life, I have to unapologetically do ME. At the same time as I allow others to be themselves.
As I learned my way through behavioral and personality psychology, I earned my self-understanding and self-love – practicing and adapting.
I’d stepped away from our successful family business, because I couldn’t find a way to make it light me up. And pretty soon, my jewelry found its way back in – I LOVED creating pieces for friends and family.
Each time, the joy I felt in giving them a one-of-kind expression of how I witnessed them (that’s how I make all my jewellery) made ME more integral. It was a sure way of feeling fully myself – in my full shine and colour.
My craft helped me establish my rules for how I felt alive, and how I shared that with the people in my life.
Jewelry as an Expression of You
So the clarity that hit me that morning in the bathroom was that I’m here to activate you to express YOUR colour and shine. But not in the conventional self-development way.
My view now (having traveled the path) is that your self-work should be for YOU. It should be a ‘vote’ for how you want to show up – the best expression of YOU. And it can be as fun as using the jewellery you choose to put on to inspire and brighten you the way YOU need it to.
Allowing yourself to shine fully.
So that your shine can illuminate those around you and give them the permission to do the same for themselves. Your beauty and your best is not in service to others, but a contribution to the co-shaping and co-creation of your life experience with your environment.
And this is what I bring to my jewelry – each piece is a celebration of individuality and a token of authenticity.
It’s not just an accessory; it can be a statement of who you are and what you stand for. It can be about embracing every aspect of yourself and shining in your own unique way.
As you peruse my collections, remember each piece’s individual journey and its potential to align with yours.
Whether it’s a set of earrings that seem to echo your brightness of character, or a bracelet that mirrors the strength in your stride, at Anahita, you’re not just choosing jewelry. Here, you’re not merely a customer; you’re a seeker of pieces that echo your journey and celebrate your individuality.
So take this moment to explore, to connect, to feel. Let your intuition be your guide in this space where creativity and individuality converge.
When you find a piece that speaks to you and is still available, feel free to make it yours.
