I love going to Vegas! It's a world of its own, it feeds the senses, and the cherry on top for me, is that you see a new marketing lesson at every encounter…
So it's no surprise that I haven't unsubscribed from my Wynn customer newsletter. I mean if there is someone who should and is on top of their marketing game – that's them.
I actually anticipate their next letter each month - LOL – OK to some of you I am little sad…
So yesterday I got my October edition :o) – and here are the marketing lessons to take away…
It's an invitation to "Plan Your Winter Getaway".

It's so well done and the execution is as smooth as it should be. So often you see a great newsletter, then you go on to complete the Call to Action, and you see them fall apart; either their site takes 10 minutes to load, or they send you to their home page – expecting you to find the special offers, or they take you to an offer that just sucks air… or worse they say you're a valued customer, but they don't know your name – hah!
The Wynn offer however, is VERY enticing. I can't show you the screen shot of that, but the elements on the page are:
- A full fast-loading gallery of the suite I can get for $109 a night – amazing suite!
- But wait because I'm so special I get an upgrade to an even better suite…
- And if that's not enticing enough, I can see the photo gallery of that amazing upgrade too…
- Then they make me feel even more special! On the side of the landing page with the offer, they have my name (spelled correctly), customer ID and details – saying this offer is specially for me…
OK, before you tell me they do that for everyone – I know! But it's nice to see they've bothered to use my details, if I've bothered to give them to them.
- And finally, once you've made the decision to "Plan Your Winter Getaway" with them, they make it even easier and they give you the calendar, so you can see availability, and prices per day… What could be easier?
So to sum it up:
- They have their copy sorted;
- Their graphics are simple but enticing;
- They functionality is user friendly and frill free;
- They offer is not only enticing, but damn hard to resist;
- Their tracking is done;
- BUT most importantly – I know that when I do "Getaway" to The Wynn, they will deliver just like and what they promised.
In fact I've been there 3 times, and every time I am pleasantly met by consistent quality of experience – every step of the way.
As I marketer, and as a customer, I love getting mail from The Wynn in Vegas – and I can't say that about many establishments that have my email address :o)
