Of course they are!
And if you don't think so, than you need to re-evaluate where you are right now.
Either you're in spiffy health and are quite an active individual, so you don't notice it since you don't have to put effort in being healthy (lucky so and so).
Or you are under-performing consistently in your business, and in your life in general. If you don't fall in the first category (and you'd know if you didn't), then read on. If you are of the second kind – then go away and keep doing what you have been doing – you seem to be doing it well :o)
The problem I find is that most people (in group one) who are hard to convince that they need to look after their body and their mind, don't want to do it because they think they are actually OK.
The truth is – you don't have any idea how good you COULD feel, and how much more energy you COULD have… But what should actually worry you is the stuff that's happening to your body underneath the surface – the stuff you don't see until they bite you in the beehind…
So the purpose of my Friday's rant on my 'soap box' is to suggest to you that just like you look after your car's body (not to scratch or dent it). Just like you keep it's water and oil topped up, and it's tires at the right bars of pressure, and it's tank fueled up with the right type of fuel…
Just like that you should consider keeping your machine well maintained and MOTied… in the hope of changing your mind, here are a few tips on making small but important steps in the right direction:
1. Don't forget to breathe! Breathe in…. hold…. breathe out… Breathe deeply and consistently. You may laugh at this one, but many of us forget to breathe, and breathe very shallow breaths due to various stresses and poor posture.
Breathing well, will give your cells the oxygen they need for optimum performance. The reward for you is not only better cell life, but loads more energy to help you through the day.
To ace this – make sure to breathe in for 1 unit, hold for 4 unit, and exhale for 2 units – 1 units can be counting to 4.
* BTW this technique I learned from Tony Robbins – brilliant.
2. Drink your water. I know it's nothing new, but this is so important it's worth repeating. Maybe this time you'll actually take action!
3. Take regular breaks. No matter how busy you are, and how much work you have – you need to make time for these. Every 90 minutes at least.
Get up off your butt, walk to an area that's not connected to your work, and do anything but work. If you want to meditate – awesome – but the basic point is just to switch off for 10 minutes. Then go right back into the craziness – you will see – you'll be much more productive and clear-minded.
4. Eat regularly and good foods. This is important – remember the right fuel in your car… remember how your car can't run on empty, or on the wrong fuel? Well, neither can your body…
OK, these are my top tips – and if you look at them they aren't THAT difficult to implement.
Make an effort with each of them, and you'll see a vast improvement in your mental agility and bodily health…
